Beowulf

Beowulf is a novel of kingship and heroism.  This was a common literary idea during this time period because of the rise in Kings’ power.  How is Beowulf’s characterization emphasized by his kingship?  Is he a hero?

If you have not had the pleasure of reading this epic, you can get a tiny idea from watching clips on YouTube.  Below is the trailer for the movie (2007).

For extra help, consult the SparkNotes version of Beowulf, but remember not to use it instead of reading.
