Slumdog Millionaire (soundtrack)

The Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack gained a lot of attention from the electronic song, “Paper Planes” by M.I.A, that reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard for Top Electronic Albums.  The soundtrack was completed in as little as 2 weeks, much shorter than usual, and according to A.R. Rahman, the soundtrack composer, he was aiming to mix the old and new India.  A.R. Rahman recieved the 2009 Golden Globe for Best Original Score.  He had planned on incorporating M.I.A.’s track since early on in production, and M.I.A. provided feedback on film editing sessions her song was involved with.
